Project Challenge Autumn Show, 19-20 September 2007 - London, England

The OGC partners attended the Project Challenge Autumn Show held at Olympia in London on 19 and 20 September 2007.

Partners OGC, TSO (official publisher), and The APM Group (official accreditor) were on Stand 99. We showcased the new 2007 edition of Managing Successful Programmes which published 3 September 2007.

A wide range of seminars and solution presentations took place during the two days and numerous speakers gave presentations on a range of subjects within the OGC portfolio. These included:

Andy Murray, Lead Author on the PRINCE2 Refresh, presented 'PRINCE2 Now and Next'
The presentation provided an overview of the publications to help organisations and individuals get the most from PRINCE2. The presentation covered topics such as PRINCE2 with DSDM Atern (Agile), using the PRINCE2 Maturity Model, Business Benefits and PRINCE2 for the project executive. The presentation also provided an overview of the feedback gained from the public consultation for the PRINCE2 Refresh, the OGC Mandate for Change and the proposed changes contained in the Scoping Document (which was published at the conference).

Rod Sowden, Lead Author on the MSP Refresh, presented 'Managing Successful Programmes - What's New?'
The presentation introduced the new version of MSP and covered the significant changes included in the new manual, providing background and context as to why these changes have been made and what benefits these will bring to users of the world leading Programme Management approach. Rod introduced the new chapters on Vision, Blueprint, and Managing the Tranches, whilst covering the new tools and techniques that have been included in this version, particularly for Benefits, Stakeholder, and Transition Management.
Presentation 'Managing Successful Programmes - What's New?'

Jane Clark, who assisted on Service Transition - one of the core titles in the ITIL Lifecycle suite - presented 'The Evolution of ITIL Service Management'
It discussed the history of ITIL, starting with ITIL V2 and explaning why there was a need for change. The presentation provided an explanation of the new lifecycle approach and the new concepts brought about by V3. This presentation provided an understanding of the qualification system associated with both Version 2 and Version 3 and an overview of the core and complementary titles.
