Have Your Say! The Change Control System - CAB Meet in January 2009

By the very nature of the term, Best Practice has its focus firmly on continual improvement and as such, each of OGC's PPPRM and ITIL publications allow readers to review and suggest changes to content as an ongoing process by means of a 'Change Control System'.

The Change Control System, within the Best Management Practice Knowledge Centre - www.best-management-practice.com/ChangeLog - provides the PPPRM and ITIL community the opportunity to have direct input and influence to the content. It acts as a repository for all issues to be recorded, actioned, and reported to ensure the ongoing improvement of the Best Practice guidance for the benefit of the globally community.

Each issue raised will be considered and put to a Change Advisory Board (CAB) chaired by TSO, OGC's Official Publisher, consisting of representatives from the user community, the exam board, and OGC. The Board is established to represent each of the core products and on a quarterly basis, the issues are reviewed to ensure that each product continues to reflect best practice in the widest possible context. It will provide prioritisation and impact analysis of each issue, together with a final recommendation, and will decide if an issue is rejected, accepted or changed at the next reprint or forwarded on for consideration at the next refresh.

The next CAB sitting takes place on 8 January 2009 and focuses on the core guidance of ITIL. If you would like to be involved and make your own suggestions of change to content, or if you'd like to view other suggestions and learn more about the Change Control System, we would be delighted to assist or hear your views. It's simple to register - visit the Best Management Practice Knowledge Centre Change Control System: www.best-management-practice.com/ChangeLog.
