Quality Assurance

Built-in quality

As the official publisher of the ITIL and PPM portfolios (PRINCE2, MSP, M_o_R, MoP, P3O and MoV), TSO is committed to developing and publishing top-quality, usable content. To guarantee that the publications are the very best that they can be, TSO works with experts at every stage - from authoring through to quality assurance and production.

TSO commissions content from the very best authors - a diverse group of professionals - working collaboratively with them on new publications and the development of existing ones, together ensuring that all guidance remains relevant, up-to-date and best practice.

Quality criteria are set in a product description and this is the specification given to the authors for development of the guidance. Once authoring is complete, TSO works in conjunction with itSMF UK (on ITIL titles) and BPUG (on the PPM side) to quality assure publications. Manuscripts are reviewed against quality criteria by international industry experts, sourced by itSMF UK for ITIL and by open invitation and BPUG for the PPM titles. The reviewers' feedback is incorporated into the second draft of the publication to improve the content.

TSO works closely with its authors and reviewers to ensure that its quality assurance process is of benefit to everyone - the reviewers, who like sharing their expertise and contributing to an official publication; the author, who can be proud of a quality work produced by the official publisher; and you, the reader, who can enjoy and learn from a publication that has been written, reviewed and published by industry experts.

So, when you choose a publication from the official publisher, you can be assured that it's got quality built in.
